Consultant/ Senior Consultant, Regulatory Compliance & Risk

As a Consultant/ Senior Consultant, Regulatory Compliance & Risk, you will be responsible for managing small to mid-sized projects and teams of consultants while developing the company on its growth path. You will also play a key role in building trusted client relationships through high quality deleverables and leveraging our industry expertise.

  • Conduct research, data collection and analysis on the needs and issues of the client through interviews and workshops to translate their requirements into well-formulated solutions
  • Present findings and recommendations to the client using business proposals and presentation decks
  • Be familiar with origination & operational control framework
  • Facilitate the identification, assessment, measurement, mitigation and monitoring of business and operational risk in the assigned areas
  • Support design and formulate controls implementation
  • Support testing and assessment to validate the control effectiveness
  • Organize and conduct review on the documentation, process, policies and guidelines to identify potential gaps against existing controls performed by first line, second line of defences
  • Prepare regular/ad hoc MIS and internal control assessment/ gap analysis reports and recommend rectification or remedial actions to be taken.
  • Prepare materials and deliver coaching, briefing and presentation to reinforce staff knowledge of policies, guidelines and operation procedures and promote staff risk and control awareness.
  • Close interaction with clients through regular project updates and networking
  • Support team members with other project activities
More experienced candidates will have these additional responsibilities:
  • Independently drive the success of a work stream by directing activities, ensuring high quality deliverables, and timely submissions
  • Manage a team of consultants by defining meaningful work packages, managing activities, and through mentorship
  • Conduct interviews and workshops with clients to translate their requirements into well-formulated solutions
  • Participate in business development activities including topic development, proposal preparation, sales presentations, and contract negotiation

  • Degree holder
  • 3-6 years of experience in the private banking, consulting, and/or technology industry
  • Experience in Project Management within Private Banking in Business Risk, Regulatory Management and Compliance topics (knowledge on Investment Suitability, Fraud Risk Management, Client Due Diligence, Pricing Disclosure)
  • Good understanding of Business Risk Controls Framework and Operational Risks, with good understanding of business, impact of regulations to the business, and know-how in terms of implementation
  • Familiarity with MAS and HKMA/SFC regulations preferred
  • Good understanding of data analysis and statistics
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Capable of applying technology principles to business
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Highly analytical and structured in problem solving; able to quickly understand complex situations
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with clients and colleagues
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and team leadership skills
